retrosketches #26

Things are quiet here now.  For about ten days, our kids and grandkids spent varying amounts of time with us, helping us celebrate my husband's birthday.  It was wonderful, absolutely wonderful!  Nothing like family filling the house with love!  Sure got a kick out of hearing "grandma..." from small voices.  We spent this past Saturday at a beautiful park for the big party -- had great food, fun, and I hired an incredible photographer to help preserve the memories.  Will post photos sometime later.  It all went too fast.
I am back into some sort of routine, and have made a birthday card for one of our sons.  I decided to play along with Retro Sketches #26 because I loved the sketch.

All cardstock is Bazzill.  The HB is from CTMH Rustic Alphabet, and the ink is Night of Navy from SU.  I cut the various sized labels using Cricut's Just Because Cards cartridge.  Patterned papers are Teresa Collins Everyday Moments (love, love, love this line!!!), and the bling is from a stash of leftovers.  Oh, and I scored the strip of navy every quarter inch, folded it, and fixed it to a base of white.  The one thing I really need to get is a better camera with which to photograph my cards (& grandkids)!

3 Challenge Post : )

This one's for my cousin Rosemarie, who is more like a sister to us girls than our cousin.  She found out this week that she has terminal cancer... Poop!  Won't go into anymore details, but would appreciate prayers to help her through this and to ease her pain.  Thanks everyone.
This fits the PPA#141, the 10-Minute Craft Dash #1, and PDCC#145.

Cardstock is all Bazzill, stamps are Hero Arts, unsure of the patterned paper, and MME twine.
Thanks for looking.

Minty Fresh Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Couldn't get the minty fresh thoughts out of my mind.  Not much time today.  Families by the bunches coming soon, and have to get things all "minty fresh" around here ; ).  Mid-century modern as compared to completely retro.  Gotta run. Literally.

All cardstock is Bazzill -- hot pink (I know, I know...it looks reddish....), and white.  MME Laundry Line Coastal "Curious" Curiously Large Spots for the minty fresh green glittery dots, Doodlebug Bubblegum twine, PTI's sentiment from Birthday Basics, and SU black ink. So that's it.

Just Us Girls #148

So much excitement here that I can hardly contain myself!  (that's probably why I'm in another migraine cycle!!) All of our kids, well all but one, and their families are coming home from across the US, and we are going to celebrate my husband's birthday.  Most of the kids will be here over the course of two weeks, and then a huge party on a Saturday at a beautiful park. We've hired a fantabulous photographer, the menu is well planned, and we'll have games and visiting and fun galore!  I'm going to sit down with all the little ones -- I think there are about 7 of them, and we'll "do projects" -- make some decorations for the big day.  Should be a blast.  Anyway...I needed a special card for my hunny's birthday, and this is the one that I came up with.  JUGS#148 had the perfect sketch, and the card almost made itself!  I love the way it turned out, and hope he does too.  Here 'tis:

I started out with SU white cardstock, used their Night of Navy ink for the sentiment, and their little filigree with a silver brad.  The navy cardstock is Bazzill.  All of the other fantastic papers are from my newest favorite collection - Teresa Collins Everyday Moments. I used MFT's fishtail die to cut the striped and navy flags in the center, and my Cricut to cut the sentiment shapes.  Just Because Cards cartridge.  The big brads are from Pink Paislee's Queen Bee line (don't you just love it when the colors from two different collections are a perfect match?!!)  The sentiment itself is from PTI's Birthday Basics set.  Love that set, and use it often!  This card turned out just the way I pictured it!  Doin' the happy dance now!
