It's All Good

I think I've been away from my computer for what seems a forever time. It's been "interesting" around here as of late; lots of company, Thanksgiving, and some extra caregiver duties. I'll leave it at that, and say that it really is, all good. I hope that you're all well, and I hope you know that you've been on my mind.

In the last couple of days, I've had the chance to make some money holder cards for some teenage-ish grandchildren, a few birthday cards for family members, and a coffee card for this season's hop. I do so love to play along with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. There's a bazillion of brilliant cards in the gallery, too. Such clever ideas!! A huge thanks to Amy, the entire DT, and all those amazing sponsors for making this so fun!!

Had to come up with something fast, but I love this little guy!

This is an MFT snowman that I've had for quite some time. I used ME Smoke Ink, and some Copics to color him. That's an MFT Wonky frame, too. The teensy cup was cut with my Silhouette so I could make it just the right size. And I'm off...Thanks for stopping, Merry Christmas, and God Bless you all.

Christmas Presents

Most of the cards I make go into bins and are saved throughout the year. At Christmas time, I divvy them up, and fill small boxes with at least a dozen cards and envelopes as presents for special people. I was one short. One. One stinkin' card. And naturally, the box that was short has to be ready to go this week...so my son can take it back to the Twin Cities after our Thanksgiving together. One short...*sigh* On the up side, I had to play in my craft room today! I think I can live with that! The inspiration for this one came from the photo over at Curtain Call. Acorns. How perfect for this time of year.

Thank heavens this sweet image spoke very loudly to me, and the idea for my card made a very loud Ping inside my head. It looks like this:

Those sweet little acorns and the sentiment are from an RC set that Darnell was kind enough to give me. They're perfect! The oak leaves are from an NBUS set from The Market Street Stamps. The circle die is from MFT. The 'dots' are from a PTI set, and I added a little kraft twine along the left side. I think this has a bit of a masculine look to it. And it's back to the 'company preparations' for me. Tons to do, but it will be so worth it. Hope your Thanksgiving festivities are full of family, friends, good food, and blessings. As always...

Time Will Tell

Time will tell if taking time to craft was a good idea or not... I've got so much to do before company comes next week that getting ready is what I probably should be doing. I did need a bit of "me" time today however. And if I really think about it, once the little ones have been in the house for five minutes, no one will be able to tell that I've cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned, lol! So worth every single sound of their laughter, and all the call-outs, "grandma, grandma..."

I've made a tag today. A friend happens to be expecting a baby girl at the end of December, and the Tag You're It Challenge has marvelous inspiration! See for yourself!

Hazel and Darnell really came up with such sweet baby girl tags, didn't they?! Be sure to stop over there and check out the rest of the DT's creations, too. And while you're at it, why don't you play along as well?! Come on, you know you want to....

My tag:

I sure wish you could see the colors in person. The pink isn't quite as garish as it appears and the greens are that perfect baby green...*sigh* I use an RC tag die, and a WPlus9 sentiment. The onesie is from a package of stickers that had no manufacture left. There are star sequins and I added a tiny green bling to their centers. Some ribbon and twine finish it. And now since I've got to get some things done, I'll leave you for today. Have a wonderful week, and as always...

Taking A Minute

I made a tag and a card yesterday morning, but have been running ever since. This is the first chance I've had to sit down and work on a post. It's 'that' time of year for me, and I'm sure it's the same with you. Thanksgiving fast approaches and I've got 20+ people coming this year. Should be loud and fun. With any luck, I'll be so organized that not only will the day go smoothly, but I'll have time to craft every single day between now and then (bwahahahahahahahahaha...yeah, that'll happen!).

I'll show you my tag first, which will be heading off to Loll's Twelve Tags of Christmas, and also to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge.

My tag is a CASE of Loll's tag - she's such an inspiration!!

Mine looks like this:

The tag itself is an RC die. The trees are die cut from a shiny paper that we added color to way back at the Lake House last year. Darnell knows the technique, but I'm afraid I've forgotten. I sponged the evening sky, and added white with a gel pen and some green splatters. The 'hill' was cut with a LF die, and the sentiment is from W&W.

My card will head off to Time Out, where two sweeties, Michele and Bobby, are our inspiration. I'll show you their cards in a sec. I'm also playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

For the Tic, Tac, Toe portion, I used the middle row across: Die Cut, Free, Leaf.

The leaf die is a new one from The Stamp Market. The sentiment is from Studio Calico. The paper is from my stash and is older than dirt, but I love it. And that's it for me tonight. Hope your week ahead is wonderful. As always...

Craziness At My House...

Yesiree. It's been about cuckoo o'clock around here for a rather long time. We had company for nearly two weeks. An "All Girls Crafty Weekend" with two of my granddaughters, my sister Sue, and her little granddaughter followed that. Appointments. Inoculations. DH not feeling well. Helping a wonderful family member with a very, very special project (will share more on that in a later post, but just in case the recipient of that special something reads my blog, I can't divulge more info just now), and my list goes on and on. I FINALLY got to spend a bit of time in the old craft room this morning. And boy oh boy did I ever miss it!! I'll admit I'm a little rusty, but it sure was nice to make a card or two! Hope to get to some commenting today as well.

Anita (brilliant and darling friend!!), from My Papercraft World, is GD all month over at Simon Says Stamp. How darn cool is that??!! The designers from SSS were also the first guests for this year's 25 Days of Christmas Tags which is found on, and is the brainchild of the ever delightful Tracey McNeely! I missed last weeks SSS Wednesday Challenge, but there's plenty of time to play at the 25 Tags of Christmas. So that's where my tag is headed off to! First, I'll show you the sweet tag that Anita made:

Mine's a slightly different CASE:

I do so love this SSS snowflake. I've given it a blingy center and winked it up with a little Stella. The patterned vellum is from an ancient chunk found in the scraps file. The silver "fa la la" sentiment is a Winnie and Walter set. This tag is based on Day One of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

Then I have card that will head off to CASology, where the Cue Card is "tiny," and also to Inspired By All The Little Things

I decided to go very CAS with my card. The others I've tried are resting quietly in the recycle bin, lol!

I used a tiny tree, with a tiny sentiment both from The Stamp Market. That's some Impress Ink on the tree, and ME for the sentiment. I added one tiny bling on the tree top and it's encased in a panel cut with a MB die. Just one more thing before I go.... This stamp set, and another I chose from The Stamp Market were the first I've ordered from this particular company. I'm happy to report that the stamps (and dies) work beautifully and are just plain fun! Inside my order came this fun thank you card. I had to use it as a decoration for my craft room, and I know for absolutely sure, you can relate to this:

You're smiling, I can tell.... I'd had this frame sitting here just waiting to be filled. I'd say it was waiting for this! There you go...As always...

Hi Kids

I'm so sorry I haven't been around very much these last weeks. Had to do some 'company cleaning' in advance of DH's brother and our new sister-in-law's two week visit, which we're in the midst of even as we speak. Since they split their time between Greece, Germany and North Carolina, and don't get to the Midwest often, we don't see them but every four or five years. Right now, they're sight-seeing and I had time to make a quick card for a couple of challenges. I will definitely get back on track with visiting your blogs and commenting soon.

I took inspiration from both Freshly Made Sketches and Inspired By All The Little Things. I think you can see just how...

And here we go...

I'd been hoarding saving this navy blue woodgrain paper, as well as those poppies, for some time. Today was the day to pull them out and actually use them! I stamped and die cut some EH leaves, used an MFT flag die, and a MB sentiment. EZPZ. For now though, I'm off to clean the bathroom and run the vacuum before our company returns. Sending you all tons of warm wishes! And...

NBUS Round 2

Hi Kids. Just an uber quick post today. DH is still sleeping, as he isn't feeling well, and I have a minute to post a card made using this NBUS set by PPP. It's cute, and without a sentiment at present because I haven't decided what to put there as of yet. Since it's full of NBUS goodness, it will, naturally head off to Darnell's NBUS Challenge!!

IT'S HERE!

Love these sweet images! Just a little ink blending for a background, cut with a ME scalloped edge die, and the other images are from PPP, colored with Copics, and cut with their matching dies. And I'm off. Hope to get to some commenting today...It just depends on my "Sweet Baboo..."

Guest Designing At Tag You're It

When Bobby emailed and asked if I'd like to be Featured Artist at Tag You're It, it was a no-brainer for me. Absolutely, positively had to say yes (and maybe do a little happy dance for good measure!!)!! How exciting! TYI is such a fun place to play, and the DT is fabulous. Thank you so much for having me!

I don't know how your nearly-Fall weather is, but here in SE Wisconsin, it's been hot. Eighty plus degrees as of late, but today it's definitely more seasonable. Since I'm not quite ready to let go of summer yet, so these warmer days have been good with me! The longer I can wear my sandals and tee-shirts, the better! My tag reflects these very last vestiges of summer:

A while back, I was perusing SSS without the intention of actually shopping (snort, giggle, laugh, yeah right...) and came across this set by Photoplay. The bathing suit image immediately caught my eye, and somehow, this set jumped (all by itself, I swear) into my cart! Isn't this just a fun image?!! It's paired with a SSS sentiment and some AE flowers which are colored with a Copic marker, die cut and popped up. The striped PPP ribbon reflect the stripes in the suit, and because I had no matchy-matchy hot pink ribbon, I used the same Copic as the flowers to color a bit of white ribbon. Worked well and my sense of matchy-matchy is happy! Do stop over at TYI and see the wonders that the DT has created and play along! It'll be fun, I promise!!

Case This Sketch

I've got one errand to run in just a few minutes, so will keep this short. I saw the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch, and wasn't sure I could make anything work. As it turns out, something came to mind and worked the first time around! So happy it did!!

My take looks like this:

Lately, I'm enamored of Gina K's ivory cardstock. Had to use it here along with a few scraps from the blue folder. They've been cut with a PPP die - isn't that just the sweetest??!! The sentiment is from SSS, and the flat, red sequins are from Amy Tsuruta. (Thanks Amy!!) While there are tons of patterns in the papers, because just a hint is showing, surrounded by all that ivory, it remains pretty CAS. And I'd better get moving, kids. Have a great day!

Darnell's NBUS #12

It's time for this installment of the incredible Darnell's NBUS Challenge. Isn't she just the best????!!!! I absolutely adore her, and I'm 100% sure that there are thousands of us in this lovely card making world who love her as much as I do!! If you've gotten to meet her in person, then you know she's as genuine and funny in real life as she is on her blog. Darnell has challenged us to grab our newest, "Never Before Used Schtuff," and ink it up. And since I had a few (cough-cough) new things, I had to play along! You will be playing, too, right?! Hope so!!

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Everything on this card, except the ink, sequins, and papers are NBUS.... I'm so bad....

Just thought this was fun. The cut-out die is from Memory Box, as are the fish stamps, fish dies, and sentiment. My sister liked this one. She's a very good 'chooser.' Hi Sue... And I hope to see you and all your NBUS enabling goodies in the gallery, too! Sending a big thank you to Darnell for having this challenge! I look forward to it each and every time! As always...

Here Again

I'm back in blogland again. We had company and a birthday party last weekend, then for some reason unbeknownst to me, the migraine troll decided to have a five-day vacation in my head. Ugh. That despicable troll finally checked out late yesterday morning, and I couldn't be happier! Since he left, I played a little in the old craft room! I've got one card for you to scope out today, and unintentionally, it's a one layer card. This one will go into Where Creativity Meets C9, where the challenge is to use Ink Only.

  Concord & 9th

For this card, I've used the Flourish Stamp Set

For this I've layered inks both on the blossoms and on the leaves. I love the way the peeks of browns show on that pretty green in the leaves. I chose orange and yellows for the blooms in honor of Fall. That's an RC sentiment, stamped like those leaves. I've got to run for now; that migraine troll did no cleaning, so that's on my agenda for today. As always...

Happy Stamptember!!

Who doesn't love Simon Says Stamp??!! And I'll admit, I look forward to Stamptember every year, so when on August 18th, Heidi Crowl posted this on Facebook, I thought, "Why not?!!"

Hi Crafty Friends! I had an idea today.... STAMPtember is coming very soon and we would love to GIVE some of our crafty friends some of the new products to try! You can tell your friends about the products if you love them and tell us about how you want us to make them better if you don't love them. The question is... WHO WANTS TO TRY SOME NEW STAMPtember products!? If you think you would like to.... please comment and like this message. Email Marketing@simonsaysstamp.com with your name and mailing address. We will chose (MANY!) wonderful crafters to mail sneak peek parcels to this week. If you are chosen, we will REPLY to your email and let you know. Sound good!? Yes? Then Ready..... Set..... GO!

So I commented and sent off an email. And then this was delivered in my mailbox:

Along with this:

I waited until today to post, because I happen to have a "Stamptember" birthday... Containing myself this long was not an easy task, believe me! And of course, I made a card with that fun set!

I love this sentiment! For other supply details, shoot me an email and I'll be happy to let you know what I've used besides this amazing sentiment set. I've got to run, as I'm getting ready to party!

Coffee Lovers

It's that time of year, when Amy and the amazing team at the Coffee Loving Papercrafters have the very fun Fall Hop. In the midst of my busy-ness, I had to make a rather quick and (I think), fun card. I enjoy these hops immensely. All those different coffee, tea, and cocoa cards blow my mind! Hope to see you as a neighbor in the gallery!

(Sorry about the gap... I don't have time to figure out why it's doing this, and even less to correct it today) But I do have a card:

This cracks me up:

White base, deep brown panel, a scrap of a grid paper, a computer generated sentiment, a die cut coffee cup with a SSS leaf stamped in brown, MB giraffe die, and an MFT wonky die. Gotta run, but as always...

Just One

Just one card this morning. So glad this sweet little card was a very QAEZPZ (quick and easy peasy) card to make, as I've a million things to get done today. You probably do too. Sometimes, as my mother used to say, "there just aren't enough hours in the day..." Did your mama say that too? Mom was full of wisdom that I thought was nonsense when I was growing up. And here I am repeating it as an adult. Moms are sneaky like that. I can only think of one instance when she was absolutely wrong - my face did not freeze like that! hahahahaha.

So. Card. I thought I'd play along at CAS on Friday, where we are to, "Color Me Pretty." You know, use markers or colored pencils. Sending this little cutie off to one of the grands. And I'll be making six more, so that all the littles get their own mail from grandma, too!

For your blog

Oh so cute (imho)

I say this to my grandchildren every time I see them or talk to them. I want them to know just how much I love them. The sky was just blended a bit with some Ocean ink from ME. The stamps are all NBUS from WPlus 9 and are colored with Copics. The scalloped frame is the smaller of the two from a PPP set of dies. And I've got to run, but as always..

Guest Designing at Inspired By All The Little Things

Happy Friday, everyone! And it is a very, very happy Friday for me! The effervescent, the ebullient, and the ever-amazing Darnell ask me to be this week's Guest Designer at Inspired By All The Little Things challenge! I was more than happy to say yes, as it's such a fun challenge and the DT is just incredible! Thanks, Darnell!!

Now the inspiration photo is chock-a-block full of things to get your mojo going. The colors (wowzers! if you ask me), those sweet flowers, the burlap, the Eiffel Tower, the script... There are just so many directions to go with this! I do hope you'll join me in the gallery!

Colors

I chose the flowers and the greenery as my inspiration:

I didn't have any minty green ink (must remedy that...) so I chose a bluey-green for the smaller flowers, (which didn't photograph very well), and a peach and coral for the larger one. The flowers and some of the leaves are from MFT, and the more palmy leaves are from SC. I found a scrap of scripty paper and stamped a HA sentiment in the darker green. I popped up two of the flowers to add a smidgen of dimension, too. Since I thought the flowers from the inspiration photo looked like boutonnieres, I tried to emulate that on my card front. Not sure I'd wear something that big though, lol!! Thanks again to Darnell and the DT at Inspired By All The Little Things for having me. Sure hope that you'll all play along with me! As always,

A "Manly" Card

Like most of us, I needed more 'manly' cards in my stash. Not only to send out to family and friends through the year, but also to be put in the collection of cards I have in my credenza (just had to use that word - go ahead, say it out loud...lol Cre Den Zaaa). Those cards are sorted and divided and piled onto a dining room table full of card-sized boxes, where they're given matching envelopes, and placed inside those boxes. Then they're given to all the kids, several of the grown-up grandkids (who've begged for a box), and a couple of special friends as Christmas gifts.  I always try to put a couple of 'manly' cards in everyones' stash. And I'm behind on those. This is all a prelude as to why you'll see the card I've made for today. I used the sketch portion of the Fusion Challenge and gave it a very (to me) masculine feel. I may just make a couple more!

I love the colors and the kitschy look of that camper, but as mentioned, I needed to make masculine cards...So I came up with this:

I'm desperately trying to use some of the papers that I love so much. This is one small section of one of those well-loved and never-used papers. The Verve sentiment was heat embossed on a scrap of black, and the circle was cut with MFT dies. I made some triangles with my Silhouette, and added some green dots for color. And there you have it. Pretty EZPZ. Hope all is well with you and...
